Girls Golf Hits Par

Finishing at 9 and 9 overall, Petaluma High School’s girls golf team placed fourth in their league.

In their first match of the year, the team tied with Casa Grande High School. “It was the first indication of competitiveness and perseverance, and that they would never give up,” said Coach Nolan Lowry.

Though Lowry has been coaching for 20 years, he was a new addition to the team this year. “The team maintained good sportsmanship and supportiveness during the matches,” said Lowry.

A memorable event of the season was senior night, where the team honored their graduating seniors and gave them a memorable goodbye. The girls were able to bond throughout the season with team dinners as well as the games and practices.

“The moment in the season that stood out to me was the inspiring words and jokes we would all make with each other,” said sophomore Grace Young. “This season was so special and I didn't want it to end,” she continued.
