Quarantine Entertainment

There’s a variety of free games on the App Store which can help keep you busy during the months of quarantine.

X2 Blocks, for example, takes everything you love about 2048 and adds a little flair. You start by combining exponents of two together to make a number as big as you can. “I love X2 Blocks,” said Petaluma native Annabella Morrone. “I got all my friends addicted to it.”

Also free on the App Store is Pokemon GO, which combines the charm of the classic Pokemon game series with unique gameplay that forces you to exercise. To play the game, players need to walk and drive around their community in search of Pokemon characters that will appear on the in-game map. For those who can drive or simply need exercise during quarantine, Pokemon GO will keep you entertained for hours. In response to worldwide shelter-in-place orders, the company behind Pokemon GO has made the game easier to play from home, without requiring players to break social distancing.

Quarantine has been dull for many people, so entertainment that keeps you interested and active is important now more than ever. Looking to video games or mobile games to keep you from boredom in the coming months might not be such a bad idea.
