Holiday Movies

As the holiday season rolls around, it becomes the perfect time to sip hot cocoa while snuggling up by the fire, but most importantly, it’s the best time to start binging Christmas movies.

Elf, starring award-winning comedian Will Ferrell, is a classic comedy movie. Ferrell plays Buddy, a human who crawls into Santa’s bag of presents as a toddler on Christmas, and ends up living in the North Pole. After years of living with other elves in the North Pole and believing the fallacy that he is an elf, he discovers that is not the case. Heartbroken, he travels to New York City to find his father.

In A Charlie Brown Christmas, Charlie Brown contemplates the true meaning of Christmas. Lucy van Pelt, Charlie’s close friend, gives the idea to Charlie Brown that he should direct a Christmas pageant. He thought that making a pageant would be a good idea, and tries to create his own. While Charlie is creating the pageant, he gets a Christmas tree; however he is upset because he does not think the tree looks good and wants to rebuild it to make it look nicer. When Linus explains to Charlie the true meaning of Christmas, Charlie and his Christmas truly do prevail.

Home Alone, another classic Christmas film to watch during the season, stars Macaulay Culkin, who plays the main character Kevin McCallister. Kevin is an 8-year-old boy living in a house full of kids. The McCallister family was planning on going to Paris, France for a Christmas vacation. However, they mistakenly forgot Kevin when they were rushing to the airport. When two burglars realize that an 8-year-old boy is home alone, they take on the not-so-daunting task of robbing the house. However, little Kevin is much smarter than they anticipate.

With all these choices of fantastic Christmas classics, you cannot go wrong this holiday season. So grab a blanket, make some cocoa, get cozy and prepare for a fantastic holiday season.
